Floral Taboo nail art

OK, I have been too busy to swatch more old Chanel polishes - so this Saturday I have nail art from the vault - on Chanel...

The base color is my beloved Chanel Taboo 583, and I painted the floral vines with acrylic craft colors; the top coat is Seche Vite.

Chanel Taboo 583 re-visited - Collaboration Saturday

It's time again for a new Collaboration Saturday together with my friend Elena from PicturedTinsel!

I have shown Chanel Taboo a long time ago, but I felt it needed better photos, so here you go...

Chanel Taboo 583 – was released in the spring of 2013. It’s a purple fire trapped in a bottle, a completely amazing deep dark eggplant purple color and with gorgeous shimmers in blue and purples, one of my favorite Chanel polishes...

I love it so much :)

Chanel Taboo comparisons - request post

This morning I have two request posts!
Earlier I showed Dior Perlé 187 layered over dark colors and now a Chanel Taboo/P2 Sensual Purple comparison.

When I showed swatches of P2 Sensual Purle right HERE - some of you wanted to know how close it is to Chanel Taboo swatched right HERE.
I decided to throw in other ones really close - and I was surprised to find so few - CLICK to see larger photos...

 The names are on the photo, and below there are close ups of the 4....

Taboo and Sensual Purple are close, but then again clearly different....

Priti Nyc Lilac Queen is a much closer match to Chanel Taboo, but Lilac Queen is not nearly as pigmented as Taboo and some of the shimmers/flakies are a little bit different...

P2 Sensual Purple and China Glaze Lets Groove are really, really close. Sensual Purple has more magenta shimmers, so it seems a touch more warm toned - but with the naked eye it's really difficult to tell the difference.

I found 2 other close relatives to Sensual Purple, left to right (click to enlarge): China Glaze lets Groove, P2 Sensual Purple, Smooch Viola and W7 Purple Paradise.

Flowers drenched in confetti are not taboo

The base color behind this silly post name is Chanel Taboo, one single coat is enough for full opacity. With acrylic craft painted I painted my flowers, and when they were dry, I added a layer of Ciate Confetti over the areas with flowers – and that might have been sliiiightly too much, I’ll let you be the judge of that! But I feel I need to do some less dominating nail art on Taboo later on, it deserves it. The top coats is, yes, you guessed it: Seche Vite.

Grundfarven bag dette fjollede indlægsnavn er Chanel Taboo, og et enkelt lag dækker helt. Jeg malede mine blomster med akrylfarve, og da de var tørre lagde jeg et lag Ciate Confetti hen over blomsterne  - og det blev viiist nok lidt for meget, jeg vil overlade det til dig at vurdere. Men jeg synes Taboo fortjener at jeg laver en lidt mindre dominerende nail art på den senere hen. Toplakken er Seche Vite.
