Above The Curve Gryffindor and Ravenclaw swatches

These 2 polishes are from the Harry Potter inspired collection by Above The Curve.
Both are shown in 2 easy coats with a coat of Seche Vite - and the removal was easy!

Gryffindor:
Above The Curve Gryffindor is a gorgeous maroon/berry linear holo with red-gold color shifting micro glitter and fine gold holo hex.

Ravenclaw:
Above The Curve Ravenclaw is a ever so slightly murky deep blue linear holo with green-blue-purple-pink color shifting micro glitter and navy holo micro glitter.
These two were the first two Above The Curve that I tried - and I am really positive and pleased with them!

  3. Gryffindor leans too much to brown for my liking, but the blue one is just lovely.

    1. It was a beautiful berry red - I didn't feel it was brown-toned as such, and I actually wore it :)
The blue should be right up your alley :)

    2. Ah, the blue one is actually one of those shade that I like on other people. Not for myself.
I know that conveying true colour, especially in red tones, is tricky, so I'll trust your word that the other one isn't brown at all.

  4. Rawenclaw looks amazing. I haven't got any polishes from this brand myself :)

  6. I needed these photos yesterday as I was very very indecise about ordering Gryffindor! How gritty is the glitter?

    1. Hardly not gritty, nothing a coat of Seche Vite cannot take care of, AND they were easy to remove, pretty much like a shimmer polish!

    2. Thank you! I think I'm the only one who doesn't use Seche, let's hope those pesky glitter will behave with my usual topcoat anyway :)

    3. LOL - I'm sure they will, they really aren't coarse or anything...

  7. I like Ravenclaw, but being a Potter fan a few years ago, I imagined Gryffindor in different colours... unless they were talking about Godrik Griffindor and Ravena Ravenclaw, not the houses ;) The first one makes an impression too though.

    1. Well, I would like to know that too - if it was the persons or the houses LOL
But no matter what, I love 'em both!
