Indigo Bananas Little Big Dipper is from the Halloween 2015 collection. It’s a medium blue holo with a super strong effect, and it has added holo micro glitter and shimmer. This is two easy coats with a coat of Seche Vite.
Do you like this slightly dusty blue..?

Indigo Bananas Call Me Mabel (faded version) swatches

Indigo Bananas Call me Mable is from the Halloween 2015 collection. This FADED version (see at the end of this post) is a pale, silvery/pink/violet, maybe even very slightly nude leaning holo with silver flakies. The holo is incredibly strong, like in super, super strong…
This is two easy coats with a coat of Seche Vite.
I was very surprised/disappointed when it arrived, the color is so far from the photos in the shop...
BUT since then I learned that a batch has faded, and replacements or a gift certificate are offered - so I'm happy :D

China Glaze Howl You Doin', Monsters Ball Coll. swatches

China Glaze Howl You Doin' is a pretty glitter in a dark purple base.
It is very opaque and easy to work with. 1 coat is enough, but this is 2 coats with a super quick dry time. It dries slightly gritty so a good top coat is a must, if you want a smooth surface. I used 1 coat of Seche Vite for these swatches.

China Glaze Monsters Ball Halloween 2013 coll: Bump In The Night swatches

OK, I'm no longer a virgin - aehm, I'm no longer a textured polish virgin ;)
China Glaze Bump in the Night is a black texture polish. I never was attracted to textured polishes, so this is my first ever...!
I read a review of this polish: "easy to work with, 1 coat and quick dry time" - so I knew it's now or never.
And all of the above is completely true!
So do I like to wear it?
It's not as terrible as I thought it would be, and my nails didn't feel trapped like they do when I wear a full-nail glitter mani - so who knows, I might wear it again, but I probably will not buy more textured polishes... ;)
Do you like texture polishes - and what do you think of China Glaze Bump In The Night?

Halloween abstract - Artsy Wednesday

In Denmark Halloween is a new thing, a little pumpkins and such, and it's by far not like in the USA.
So I was simply not inspired to do a Halloween mani, when it became the theme of this Artsy Wednesday - and the one I did LAST YEAR pretty much covered it, have a look if you haven't seen it.
But then I thought of how often many of you think of Christmas, when I do red and gold mani's, so I hope that these colors will send you Halloween vibes ;)
The base color is Absolute Nails Ready To Go 19 from the perfumery chain Douglas in Germany. The pattern I painted with various stripers, and the top coat is Seche Vite.
Grundfarven er Absolute Nails Ready To Go 19 fra parfumerikæden Douglas i Tyskland.

Halloween claws - Artsy Wednesday

This week’s challenge is of course Halloween!!
You might notice that my nails suddenly grew dramatically, but they are borrowed feathers so to speak…
The paintings are however as always my own freehand nail art. The base color is Catrice C04 Wild, Wild West-side. The dark sky is sponged with China Glaze Meteor Shower, the fine micro glitter is China Glaze Fairy Dust and I used acrylic colors for the nail art. The thumb is a pumpkin/Jack o'lantern in a field and it’s sunset, the sky is darkening, the index is ghosts flocking over the witches brew, that is coocking over fire. The middle is a young witch with lip stick, and in her world her nose, the warts and her chin and looks makes her a really hot chick! The ring finger is s cob web and the bats are flying on my pinkie.

Happy Halloween

Dansk – se længere nede.
My blog is now two weeks old, and I have a Halloween greeting card for you – see it HERE
Also a huge thanks to those six, that has chosen to follow my blog, it means a lot to me!
I also redid my thumb and pointer fingers from the original version, and they still look very messy, it’s simply not my day today, everything else goes wrong too – I’m developing a Halloween fright ;)

This time I used the Nail Star Two Way Pen (Chinese brand from Ebay), using the pen. It’s easy, and on my other pointer finger the spider web is better, because I hardy squeezed at all. On the pumpkin face I added gold colored rhinestones in the eyes for at little fire inside. I still got a LOT to learn, if I ever can keep my hand that steady.

Halloween nails went wrong – mislykkede Halloween negle…

Used materials: Orly Goth + Orange Punch (ringfingers, where I also have a coat of China Glaze Shooting Stars), China Glaze Ridge filler, Seche Vite, fimo smilies, various stripers.

Flash - blitz

Dansk, se længere nede.
2011.10.29. Today the two new Orly Polishes, that I hoped would arrive before Halloween, came. It’s Goth and Orange Punch. I had very loosely planned the motives to be a ghost, a bat, a pumpkin and cobwebs, but the latter I forgot in the process.
You don’t have to tell me it looks terrible, and that the two hours I used were in vain, I know that. But I have promised myself to post all mani’s since I started two months ago, regardless how they turn out…
It didn’t help much, that the white and black stripers are of a cheap Korean brand (called OPI – LOL), one of the hairs in the white one was longer, and it shows on the ghost, that looks more like a kite (not that I ever met a ghost in person ;)
Nor that the polish below kind of gets wet again, when I used other polishes on top – how do I avoid that??
I asked my supportive husband if I should take it off, but he likes it, so I’ll wear at few days, I think…
