Picture Polish Bluebird, Spring and Gala swatches

Today I have my 3 picks of the just released Picture Polish polishes: Bluebird, Spring and Gala. The two I didn’t buy are Merge (light grey/brown) and Posey (pale baby pink/nude).

Bluebird:
Picture Polish Bluebird is one of the 2016 Collaboration Shades, a collaboration with Kelli Marissa. It is described as: Bluebird is a periwinkle blue prismatic holo with violet sparks and dries smooth on the nail (contains no glitter) – and I agree, and it’s very beautiful even if it is just a tad dusty. The first coat was surprisingly opaque, but this is two with a coat of Seche Vite.

Spring:
Picture Polish Spring is one of the 2016 Opulence Shades. It is described like this: Spring is a barbie pink scatter holo and dries smooth on the nail (contains no glitter). I do not agree, to me a Barbie pink is more red-toned, but I like this one much better because it is blue-toned and lavender leaning – it’s truly adorable – and at the same time elegant and grown up. The first coat was surprisingly opaque, but this is two with a coat of Seche Vite.

Gala:
Picture Polish Gala is one of the 2016 Opulence Shades. It is described as: a dusky violet scatter holo and dries smooth on the nail (contains no glitter). I think it’s a good description, but fortunately it isn’t too dusky for my liking, and I love how much the scatter hold comes out to play, even in low indoor light settings. You see it in two easy coats with a coat of Seche Vite.
I like all, but either Gala or Spring is my favorite - what's yours..?

Spring abstract on Trout Pout

I simply felt like going crazy with a sponge and a dotting tool, and as I have been walking around Butter London Trout Pout considering some nail art on it – I decided to use it. With a makeup sponge I dabbed random areas with Essie Dive Bar (the very dark blue), Butter London Slapper (teal) and China Glaze Sunshine Pop (yellow) and I dotted random dots Nubar Blue Hydrangea (light blue) and some of the other colors too. Finally I top coated.
It’s an super easy and quick mani, and you can choose the colors you like.

The base color is Nubar Mali-Blue and then I with a very thin striper added vegetation/grass/leaves with 3 different green acrylic colors. The yellow flowers I dotted with China Glaze Happy Go Lucky and on top I dotted China Glaze Lighthouse for a little sparkle. Finally I added some illusive, light clouds with a dotting tool and Essie Pearly White before I top coated with Seche Vite.

Small purple one-stroke flowers on yellow - små lilla blomster på gult

Happy Easter Monday, in Denmark our Easter holiday started Thursday, and this is the last day!
The base color is China Glaze Sunshine Pop, and with acrylic colors and a striper I painted 2 greens in horizontal stripes. Then I used a very small one-stroke brush for the flowers and a dotter for the pink center of the flowers. Finally I top coated with Seche Vite.

"Hiding in Easter" mani - påske kamuflage

A quick, and quite silly Easter-color-Friday mani ;)
Originally I was planning a "Hiding in yellow", but my yellow's are too close to make one.  That's why I chose these colors.
The base color is China Glaze Gaga For Green, and the camouflage is made with a dotting tool and colors from China Glaze: Solar Power, Sunshine Pop, Happy Go Lucky, Lighthouse, Papaya Punch and Sweet Hook and finally I top coated.

Easter - Artsy Wednesday

Easter is very appropriately this week’s challenge in our Artsy Wednesday group!
The base color is China Glaze Bahamian Escape and the vegetation, flowers and eggs are painted with a striper, a tiny brush and acrylic colors. Finally I top coated, unfortunately with Poshe, that previously have given me problems with bubbles (notice the thumb), but IRL I couldn't see them..
I’m pretty certain that the Easter Bunny has been hopping around on my nails
Check out what the other girls in Artsy Wednesday did in this weeks challenge, we now post simultaneously, so go right ahead: Michelle at Lab Muffin,  Alanna at Pretty Purple Polish, Holly at Hooked, Tif at Polished Genious, Lyndsey at Nails by Ms. Lizard, Sofie from Swååfie, Catrine from Unnakednails, Melanie at Nail & Polish, Jessica at Beauty Gnome

Tiny pink flowers, 2 versions - små lyserøde blomster i 2 versioner

The base color is Essie Go Overboard topped with Essie As Gold as it gets. When dry I used acrylic color for the rest. I painted leaves/stems with a medium long striper, that I cut back, so that it’s very thin, I used grey, olive and a sage green, and the flowers I dotted with a light hand using pink acrylic, and I top coated with a matte, Essie Matte About You, you can see that result below the text..
IRL it looked really great, but the photos enlarge my nails about, so I thought that the flowers looked a bit too one dimensional, so the next day I added a little hot pink with a very fine (cut back) brush, and this time I top coated with a glossy tc, Seche Vite, the result above this text.
What do you prefer…?
Grundfarven er Essie Go Overboard toppet med et lag Essie As Gold as it gets.

The base color is China Glaze Kinetic Candy, and when dry I added/dabbed China Glaze Snow Globe for sparkle on the sky, but not all the way down to the tip,. The lower half I sponged with Butter London Wallis, see photo below, and now I was ready to paint the Snowdrops (Galanthus Nivalis) with acrylic colors. First I used my thinnest striper for the vegetation and leaf’s, I chose two different green shades. With a small brush I did the flower heads and with a tiny dotting tool I added the green dot on top of each flower. Finally I top coated with Seche vite.
In Denmark the Snowdrops are the first flowers of the year. Do you like Snowdrops, and do you prefer these or THESE?
Have you noticed the new page in the top menu, Flowers/blomster, with links to all my flowers...?

Snowdrops for my husband - vintergækker til min mand

I don't think you  ever seen my mani's on the day I actually did them, except for THIS ONE, but it's my husbands birthday, so this morning I asked him, what kind of flowers he wanted, and on what base color.
He went for Butter London Bossy Boots and snowdrops, the years first flowers, because he loved the ones I removed yesterday (I'll post them Wednesday or Thursday), so this is my "take 2" on snowdrops. I don't like as much as "take 1", I'll let you judge later this week :)

I spongede the ground with Butter London Wallis before I with a super thin striper painted vegetation and leaves in grey and 2 green acrylic colors, and I did the flower heads (both white and green part) with a dotting tool. Finally I top coated with Seche Vite.
See Bossy Boot swatches HERE
Do you have snowdrops where you live?

Gaga for Electric beat in the green grass

A quick and easy Friday mani...
Sorry about the goofy name, I can't help myself, it's a combination of two of the colors used, and sorry for the oily residue, I had put hand lotion on my hands and forgotten all about it, and when I came around to editing the photos, the mani was gone.
This is 2 coats of China Glaze Electric Beat, and it made me feel springy, so I used Gaga for Green for the grass, Sunshine Pop for the sun and flowers, they are both from the same collection, ElectroPop. For the clouds I used OPI Alpine Snow. I used a dotting tool for clouds, sun and flowers, a fine brush for the longer grass, you also could use a fine dotting tool, and the grass I painted like an uneven French tip.
