Priti Nyc swatches: Fairys Petticoat and Silver Torch

Normally I never wear nudes/neutrals, but when I recently won a bunch of lovely Priti Nyc polishes from the sweet Elena on Pictured Tinsel, these two were among them, and guess what, I'm almost convinced I can wear these but I will let you be the judge: Can I wear these neutral shades - be honest...?

Priti Nyc Fairys Petticoat is a true nude with a light rose hue and a shy silver shimmer. As a test I layered it over white on my ring finger (with very pronounced ridges) - but the difference is very subtle, and I liked it best on the other nails.
The formula is perfect and so is the dry time - I really love Priti Nyc polishes!

Priti Nyc Silver Torch contains all the colors I do not like on my own nails, but find very elegant on others - yet, I liked them in this combo: grey, sand and beige - and what really lifts this color is the subtle silver shimmer.
Again a flawless formula and super dry time - here shown without a top coat.

So closing rapidly in on 60 years of age, should I act my age and start wearing nudes and granny colors???
- nah, I don't really see that happen, but I might consider wearing neutrals from time to time, if I feel like it - but what is your final verdict: Can I wear these two neutrals do you think...?

And a final question (that I am going to ask more times, because I really would like to know): Do you know any nail bloggers that are 60+???
I know a handful in their early/mid fifties, but am I the oldest...?

  1. I love this kind of shades. So i think age is not important.
You should wear what colour you want. I don't know anyone who 60+. Also I'm so glad that know you :)

  2. Maria, these colors do NOT look granny-like at all. Especially Fairy's Petticoat looks gorgeous on you.

    Kind regards,
    Elena

    1. I know, it's all in my head hahaha - and yes, it is a very pretty polish!!

  3. Maria, you wear these colours perfectly and they compliment your skin tone. They don't make you look older. The important thing is that they don't make you *feel* older.
I am curious about 60+ nail bloggers, too. Maybe some people who are actually 60+ do not want to publish their age. Your age does *not* show on your hands or on your nail art anyway.
Yours truly is 49 - this is not hard to guess from my blog, because I published some not-nail-related miscellaneous articles (music from when I was young and the like) for a couple of challenges. I must be (one of) the oldest French-speaking nail bloggers. And I wish nail stuff were not related to any form of ageism.
    Love :-*

    1. Thank you so much Julie, and I know, it is how we feel inside :) But sometimes when the body aches so badly, it is not always easy to accept..
As for your last thoughts, well I will keep painting my nails as long as I still feel like it and can do it, so I thinks as long as we love blogging we should - at least I will :)

  4. I don't wear nudes either, I like kapow on my nails, as you know.

These don't look too bad on you, really - I do prefer the first one though. The other one is ... not as good :)

    1. I sure know LOL
But I agree, I think I can wear both of them - one better than the other :)

  5. I think both look good on you. I like Silver Torch better as a colour, but I think Fairy's Petticoat suits you better.

    1. Thanks a lot - and I agree, but personally I'm going through a phase right know where I fall for colors like Silver Torch, it's a bit strange :)

  6. I personally don't wear a lot of nudes, just cause they are too boring lol. I just love bright, cheerful colors. I'm that way with clothes too. As for these two nudes, there's nothing wrong with them (they look really lovely on you), but I don't think you should wear them unless you really want to. ;)

    1. That's why I wear them either - and you are so right, fortunately there isn't a law saying: When you are 60 you cannot wear bold colors any more hahaha

  7. I think that Fairys Petticoat looks good on you; about Silver Torch I'm not so sure, but it's not the matter of age, but of the skin type and colour. No, I don't know any blogger +60, but don't worry, I have the feeling that there will be many many +50 +60 bloggers nail-polish-holics in the future... And they will wear all colours of the world! :-)

    1. LOL you are so right, it's a skin color thing to me too.
I hope so too, but it could be fun to know if I maybe am the oldest at the moment LOL

  8. I think silver torch looks great... I actually prefer that one but like them both

  9. When i first saw Fairy's Pettycoat, I thought this must be it, I don't think that Silver Torch can compete. But then I scrolled down and it looked just as pretty! While I totally share your love for vibrant colours, awearing a nude from time to time can be refreshing, so go for it!

As for those numbers: you're the best, no matter the age!

  11. I think there's no color you can't wear (or any other person). It's all up to you, you should like the color and feel comfortable "in" it :)

    1. That is wise words, Irina, I think you are right, if we do not feel comfortable in it, it doesn't truly matter if others think so, only a little bit LOL

  12. Fairys Petticoat is sooo cute and I really love how it looks on your nails!
To be honest, IMHO, I don't like the colour of Silver Torch (I would hate it on my nails, I guess) and it is a bit... boring on yours! :)
I don't know the ages of bloggers I follow XD
I am "young" (I am 24) but I think the age is just a number, isn't it?

    1. OHMG I thought you were older - you seem to be so wise and mature LOL
I agree with you and the cat Garfield, quote: Age is just a state of mind with a healthy dose of denial...

  13. I love both of these! They are gorgeous neutrals!

  14. Age is just a number! (and nail polish is just nail polish after all!) While I personally love a great neutral (and yes I think you can pull them off), I don't think anyone should feel obligated to wear something bc of age. I know of a few of bloggers that are older 50-60 yrs) but they are not np/make-up, more lifestyle & family bloggers. I find you to be one of the kindest and devoted bloggers out there and I don't care if you're 16, 60, or 100! :)

    1. I'm pleased that you think I can wear them - but of course we should wear certain colors if we do not feel like it - I agree!
I know there are older bloggers than me in other types, but I really would love to know other my age, and just for the fun of it - if I am the oldest nail polish blogger around...
