MAC Rain of Flowers swatches

MAC Rain of Flowers was originally released in 2010 I believe as an LE, but as far as I know it has had one re-release since then. It is a blackened violet, in two coats an eggplant purple, loaded with blue shimmer, it’s gorgeous, but also almost too dark for me! You see it in two coats with a coat of Seche Vite.

MAC Near Beth Experience swatches

It's Friday morning = pastel yellow :)
But it's the last Friday in August and summer soon is over....
Of my approximately 90 pastel yellows (not counting the 10 that are almost pastels) I only need to show you 8 more.
Therefore I have decided to save them for next summer, and hopefully by then I have gotten even more pastel yellows - you could help me find some, please ;)
In September all Friday mornings will however still be kind of pastel!
I have prepared 4 swatch spam posts with each 3 or 4 pastel or bright polishes; I hope you like the idea!

MAC Near Beth Experience is from the summer 2012 Mac Beth Ditto collection. It is a delightful and fairly pale pastel yellow cream with a nice formula. This is 3 easy coats without a top coat.

Peppermint Patti with dots

The base color is MAC Peppermint Patti, a long time lemming – and I was so surprised and slightly disappointed to see that it’s not really bright, it’s dusty – see my SWATCHES

Ah well, I used a multitude of pastels for the dots (both bright and dusty), finished with one coat of P2 Glamorous Finish Holo top coat 040 Just Fantastic! before I top coated with Seche Vite.

Grundfarven er MAC Peppermint Patti, som jeg havde ønsket mig så længe og blev så skuffet over fordi den ikke er klar, men faktisk noget støvet – se den HER uden nail art.

Men hvad – jeg brugte en flok pastel farver (både klare og let støvede) til prikkerne, og jeg lagde et lag af P2 Glamorous Finish Holo top coat 040 Just Fantastic! før jeg topcoatede med Seche Vite.

MAC Peppermint Patti swatches - when a lemming disappoints

Have you even been there - a lemming is finally yours, and in the first glance you realize that it does not at all like the mouthwatering swatches you have seen of it...?
That is where I am with MAC Peppermint Patti!

All though it is a pretty green, it is a subdued and slightly dusty one - not at all bright and minty, like I thought it would be...

The formula is nice enough, the application is easy and the dry time is good - this is 2 coats without a top coat...

Later today I will show you the nail art I did on Peppermint Patti, and it didn't change my mind a bit...

My near Beth flower experience

The base color is the gorgeous pastel yellow called Mac Near Beth Experience from the Mac Beth Ditto coll. 2012. I loved the formula by the way. To create a little shimmer under my flowers I used Make Up Your Face Treachery that reflects gold/green; it was highly visible in person, not so much on the photos. I painted the flowers with acrylic craft color and top coated with Seche Vite.

Den var forøvrigt meget let at lægge. For at give bagrunden for mine blomster lidt glimmer, lagde jeg et skråt strøg af Make Up Your Face Treachery, der reflekterer i grønt og guld; desværre er effekten ikke let at fange på billederne, men den var meget tydelig i virkeligheden.

The Never Ending Haul Story - part 1

Today there is no Micro Painting Monday - and I'm still not over my flue...
I have promised myself to get better at taking photos when I get new polishes, because many of you love haul posts. Some might think they are lazy posts, but I really enjoy reading other bloggers haul posts - so here is my first "recent" haul post, and that typically means within the last few months - that way I don't have to feel to embarrassed if/when I get a bit too enthusiastic... ;)

In April my dear friend from Rainbowify Me shopped these for me in London, but I never postet about it - and these polishes are SO lovely that I need to, thanks my friend :)

 These beauties arrived from Pretty Polish in Holland - actually it was a wile back...

 

This lovely bunch arrived from Maquillalia in Spain, they ship world wide and have both Catrice and Essence at a slightly more expensive price than the shops I visit in Germany, and unfortunately their shipping is expensive... But if you didn't find Catrice and Essence, that you really wanted, it's a good place to search. I also bought my first Hean and Accessorize - and in the parcel was a free nail polish, samples and candy!

By the Danish shop essenze.dk I found these 3 Ciate's from my wish list at a discount price, I don't know if I were lucky, but two days later they were at a normal price...

I bought my first 3 Gina Tricot from Gina Tricot - mostly known for their fashion range, but they also have beauty products, and I have a pair of Gina Tricot glasses too...

I fell in love with the Nars Collobaration with Pierre Hardy collection and bouth the set Sharks, and 2 others jumped in the shopping chart basically without my knowledge ;)

I was lucky to find two lovely MAC polishes, my very first - I found them both on Ebay at a reasonable price, actually Mischieveous Mint was very inexpensive, only $6.50...

 

 

I had fallen in love with the LCN Blossom Sorbet set, the first 4 from the left - and I think we have a dupe on our hands when looking at #4-5 ;)
I shopped in a to me new shop - Beauty Lounge in Germany, a bit expensive in many ways. I also bought my first Alessandro's and Malu Wilz - in the parcel there also were candy and free samples not shown of the photo...

Will "The Never Ending Haul Story" continue? Will Maria buy more polish? Have she bought more polish? Does she have enough - or doesn't she? What's wrong with her? Are you confused?
