Cruisin' for sun flowers

The base color is China Glaze Beach Cruise-R from the Summer Neons coll. 2012. It’s only ONE coat over my base coat – what’s not to like about that LOL
I painted sunflower-like flowers in acrylic colors, and I top coated with Seche Vite.
Grundfarven er Glaze Beach Cruise-R fraSummer Neons coll. 2012.

Purple roses on lemon meringue

The base color is Models Own Lemon Meringue, a gorgeous light pastel yellow. It was opaque in two coats and dried quickly. On top of that I put a layer of Lilaquer Selkie, a subtle green reflecting top coat, and of course it would have a much stronger effect on a dark color. The flowers I painted with acrylic colors and I top coated with Seche Vite.

Inspired by jewelry - Artsy Wednesday

Looking for a "firm hand shake", look no furter - denne krabbe gav et "fast håndtryk"
This weeks challenge in Artsy Wednesday is Inspired by jewelry. But I don’t wear that much jewelry any longer, but when I do I go for the more untraditional things in my drawer.
I decided a pendant made of amber and a crab claw – two of many things that symbolizes the North Sea, that I’m lucky enough to live close to. Amber is called the gold of the North, google it to learn more about it’s fascinating story. Crab claws are a delicacy IMO even better than the slightly fatter lobster meat, and we love to eat it and serve it to our guests too. Normally they are quite black on the upper side of the claw, and that’s how I painted mine in acrylic colors over China Glaze Sky High-Top. The top coat is Seche Vite.
Check out what the other girls in Artsy Wednesday did in this weeks challenge
Michelle - Lab Muffin,  Alanna - Pretty Purple Polish, Tif - Polished Genious, Lyndsey - Nails by Ms. Lizard, (not this week: Melanie - Nail & Polish), Jessica - Beauty Gnome,  Emily - An Accent Nail, Kamen - Kaka Beauty Blog, Catrine - Unnakednails

Illamasqua Blow, Load, MILF & Nomad, swatches

Illamasqua Blow 2 coats, a lovely pastel yellow
Close up of Blow
Illamasqua Load 2 coats, if you do not think too much of the name, you see a lovely cream color

close up of Load
Illamasqua MILF 2 coats, yes really, that IS the name! A dusty pastel green
close up of MILF
Illamasqua Nomad 2 coats, a beautiful bright, light green
close up of Nomad
All four were easy to apply with a great formula. It looks like they presumably are 2-coaters on real nails too.
These 4 were part of  my nail mail from Illamasqua, shipped in a cool box with free samples...
I owned only one Illamasqua before this nail mail, a beautiful purple, called Poke, and later this week I'll show you Poke, and the two at the bottom below: Jo'mina and Babtiste...
On another note:  This might come out as whining, but it's not, I'm simply curious LOL -  the number of comments on my "Clean cut Abstract - Gabrini Abstract 3" yesterday is much lower than normal - please be honest, is it because you hated it - or didn't see it yet...??????

Clean Cut Abstract - Gabrini abstract 3

This type of nail art is my favorite at the moment, I cannot get enough of it – so bear with me flower lovers, I promise that you will get flowers too :)
The base color is Gabrini M113 from the Summer Collection. After I applied 2 coats and let them dry, using the bottle brushes I painted abstract patterns using Gabrini M104 and Gabrini M110. I outlined them with a black striper, and top coated with Seche Vite.
Of my non-floral designs I think this is my favorite, I LOVED wearing it. Do you like it...?

Drag marble hearts - Gabrini abstract 2

The base color is Gabrini M110 from the Summer Edition 2012 – a beautiful, bright (neon?) purple. First I painted each nail (over my base coat) with one coat. Then I painted a second coat on one nail at the time and dripped small drops of Gabrini M104 and Gabrini M113 over the still completely wet polish, and with a nail art brush I made a striping movement through the drops towards the tip, and that created the heart like pattern. Then I moved on to the next nail, until I had done all nails. Finally I top coated with Seche Vite.
See swatches of these 3 polishes HERE - The other two Gabrini Abstract manis: 1 click HERE - 2 tomorrow (I love that one)

Studded jeans

Studs can be used in numerous ways - fantasy is your only limit
A Y and a cross pattern
A diagonal tip, a random and a square pattern

Some time ago I did a review on BK Fashion Nail Color Navy Blue Silver Shimmer #04
for Born pretty Store, and I thougt it would be a great "jeans" polish for the studded look, and very appropriate for todays review of 2mm square golden studs also from Born Pretty Store.
The studs are very easy to use - and I hope you like the 5 examples of use...
If you want a 10% discount on any product at Born Pretty Store, please use the code G10X31 - also found in the sidebar of my blog.
Later today I have the second of the Gabrini abstract designs, so check in later :)

Sea- and polish monsters, drag marbling - Gabrini abstract 1

The base color is Gabrini Summer Edition M 104 – a bright and fun neon green. First I painted each nail (over my base coat) with one coat. Then I painted a second coat on one nail at the time and dripped random drops of Gabrini M113 and Gabrini M110 (from the same collection) over the still completely wet polish, and with a nail art brush I made a swirling movement through the drops (drag marbling) and that created an abstract, slightly messy pattern. Then I moved on to the next nail, until I had done all nails. Finally I top coated with Seche Vite.
I had fun with this one. All though it's not very neat – I could see so many creatures and things in the shapes. There is definitely two deadly jelly fish fighting on my thumb, monsters and other creatures on the rest LOL
See swatches of these 3 polishes HERE - Gabrini Abstract 2 click HERE -

Gabrini Summer Edition 2012, swatches and review of 3 colors

Gabrini M104 Summer Edition
Gabrini M110 Summer Edition
Gabrini M113 Summer Edition
These three Turkish Gabrini polishes I got from a swap with my dear friend Zana on Nail crazy in Croatia!
They are from the Summer Edion that holds 20 polishes. I suppose they are neons, but not as "evident" neons - neither in color nor in finish. The green was a bit goopy, the purple pretty normal and the orange a little thinner. All of them dried pretty fast - so I had to work fast when i did nail art on all three colors - involving the two others each time - and in a few hours I'll show you the first of them...

Flowers in the mint candy

The base color is Jordana Mint Candy and the tips are sponged with Butter London Wallis. The flowers I as usual painted with acrylic colors and I top coated with Seche Vite.
I really liked this one a lot!

Golden stamping on red, I feel like I'm cheating...

The base color is one coat of the very well pigmented Butter London Knees Up, and I had visions of painting some golden pattern on it, not flowers. But neither my brush nor my paint wanted to co-operate and after admitting defeat I got ready for a new defeat, stamping. I rarely stamp and I assumed it was one of those days...
I chose a pattern on a GCOCL plate number D01 and as my stamping polish I chose Barry M Foil Effects in gold. I started with my right hand, and lo and behold, it looked all right and wow it was quick. I continued with my left hand, and I could say that I deliberately placed the rose like that on the index to make room for the dots, but that wouldn’t be quite true LOL
I love to see stamping manis on others, but I didn’t enjoy this one on myself, I didn’t feel it was “mine”. So the next day I redid it with a freehand pattern, and now everything worked as it should. I'll show that one some day...
