Matte & glossy - Artsy Wednesday

 

This week's theme in Artsy Wednesday is matte & glossy. The base color is the matte China Glaze Stone Cold from the Colors of the Capitol Collection, and I love that one coater. The golden pattern I created with a dotting tool and Orly Glitz & Glamour. I was pretty happy with the result.

Notice how visible my ridges are (and I do use a ridge filler base coat) - Seche Vite is helping me with a much better end result, but a top cat wasn't an option in this mani :)

Udfordringen i denne uges Artsy Wednesday er mat & skinnende.  Grundfarven er China Glaze Stone Cold fra Colors from the Capitol kollektionen, og jeg er vild med den etlags lak. Det gyldne mønster malede jeg ved hjælp af et dotting tool og Orly Glitz & Glamour. Jeg var godt tilfreds med spillet mellem mat og skinnende.

Playing with silky & matte finishes in stripes and dots

 

Glossy - with top coat

The base color is Essence 03 Peach Punk from the Rebels coll. it dries with a semi matte latex finish. I wanted to keep the theme in silky semi matte finish so with a striper I freehanded stripes and dotted dots with China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise (turquoise neon) and Stone Cold (dark grey matte), and the light green-yellow is also from the Rebels coll, it’s called 04 Rebelizer. After a while I wanted to see it glossy, so I top coated to see the difference. Which version do you prefer?

Grundfarven er Essence 03 Peach Punk fra Rebels kollektionen, den tørrer med en såkaldt latex finish, for mig er det en silke/halvmat. Jeg ønskede at blive i det semimatte og matte tema, så jeg malede striber med en striper pensel og prikker med et dotting tool med China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise (turkis neon) and Stone Cold (mørk grå mat), og den lyse gulgrønne er også fra Rebels kollektionen, den hedder 04 Rebelizer. Efter et stykke tid blev jeg nysgerrig efter at se, hvordan den ville se ud med en toplak, hvilken version foretrækker du?

Silly Saturday flowers from the waste bin

 

The base color is China Glaze Stone Cold. It dries with matte finish, but I added a coat of China Glaze Luxe and Lush and when dry I painted pink flowers with acrylic paint, and then I top coated with Seche Vite.

I wasn’t happy about this design, the petals should all have been either long or short. But the flowers did make me giggle, I suppose that's because of my dirty mind LOL

Grundfarven er China Glaze Stone Cold, der tørrer med en mat finish, men jeg lagde et lag China Glaze Luxe and Lush over den, og derefter malede jeg de lyserøde blomster med akrylfarve. Til sidst topcoatede jeg med Seche Vite.

Jeg var utilfreds med blomsterne, kronbladene skulle have været lige lange - korte eller lange. Designet fik mig dog til at fnise, men det har nok noget med min beskidte tankegang at gøre ;)
