Color Club: Holiday Splendor, By Design, Fashion Moments and First Looks (+ a dupe) swatches

Today I have 4 Color Club swatches for you. They all apply and dry well, and are shown without a top coat, except the first Holiday Splendor, a glitter.

Holiday Splendor is from the "Beyond The Mistletoe" coll. 2012. The holographic glitters are really strong, stronger than shown in these photos. It does remind me quite a bit of a lighter version of China Glaze Atlantis - and that is my favorite glitter ever!

 

 The next 3 are from the "In True Fashion" coll. 2012.

 By Design is a gorgeous eggplant purple cream, I do have a weakness for this kind of color.

 

Fashion Moments is an even darker eggplant purple leaning towards brown or even black, it's very dark. I'm actually wearing this right now with nail art on it, so maybe i should post that on Tuesday...?

 

First Looks is a beautiful blackened teal with a gorgeous shimmer.

First Looks made me think of a possible dupe - and I would say it is. To the left we have Color Club First Looks, and to the right we have Nubar "The Painted Nail" One night Only - what do you think...?

Kiko Holographic nail laquer: 399, 400, 401 & 402

Kiko recently released 4 holo's: Holographic nail laquer left to right: 402, 399, 401 & 400
To be honest they looked a bit dull in the bottle, but OH MY - I regret I didn't buy many more. The price is € 4.99, and I bought mine in Augsburg in Germany, - Kiko is not available here in Denmark.

402 is a red fuchsia, 399 is a champagne/sand, 401 is blue with a slight green hue and 400 is charcoal

China Glaze Bohemian Luster Chrome swatches

Today I'm showing you swatches of 5 of the 6 colors from China Glaze Bohemian Luster Chrome Collection 212, only Swanky Silk is missing.
As much as I love China Glaze, my favorite brand, I have to say that this collection is not quite as impressive as I thought it would be, I find that the duochrome effect is too weak in most of the colors. 
I dag vil jeg vise jer swatches af 5 af de 6 farver i China Glaze Bohemian Luster Chrome Collection 212, Swanky Silk er den eneste, der mangler.
Selvom jeg elsker China Glaze overalt, må jeg indrømme at denne kollektion efter min mening falder lidt igennem,  jeg synes ganske enkelt ikke den duochrome effekt er ret god i de fleste af farverne.

Deviantly Daring a dark teal/turquoise shifting to golden green - but mostly in artificial light

Rare & Radiant is shifting from gold to green - a Chanel Peridot dupe

Unpredictable is a golden green shifting to teal

I Want My Bawdy is a dark blue only shifting within a little lighter/darker, but beautiful nonetheless

No Plain Jane is a dusty purple shifting to a dusty brownish bronze

Essie Navigate Her, swatches & review - anmeldelse

Essie Navigate Her is from the spring collection 2012 called Navigate Her.

The photos show it a little more green than it is IRL. It’s a slightly dusty, light green cream color, but not light in the spring green sense, it's leaning towards a light khaki green. All though I like it, I expected it to be more green, just a little lighter than the more cold toned Dior Waterlily.

It’s easy to apply and dries quickly, 2 coats gives full opacity.

Here you have 2 coats over a ridge filler base coat, but without a top coat.

Billederne viser den en en smule mere grøn, end den er i virkeligheden Det er en ganske let støvet, lys grøn creme farve, men ikke lys som i forårsgrøn, den hælder mod at være en lys kaki grøn. Selvom jeg godt kan li’ den, forventede jeg at den var mere grøn, som en lidt lysere udgave af Dior Waterlily, der er mere kold i den grønne nuance.

Den er let at påføre og tørrer hurtigt, 2 lag dækker fint.

On the full manicure below I used 1 coat over ridge filler base coat + top coat, starmagnet on thumb, diagonal on the rest. På de nedenstående billeder har jeg lagt et lag over base coat, og der er lagt top coat, jeg brugte stjernemagneten på tomlerne og den diagonale på resten af fingrene.

If you fail, you can add a thin second coat right away and redo it.

They are definitely going to be my on travel polishes, but they are outstanding for quick out-the-door manicures too. Well worth the money, if you ask me!

Hvis det mislykkes, kan man bare straks lægge et tyndt lag ovenpå og forsøge igen.

De vil helt klart være mine ”med på ferie lakker”, men er også super til en ”på vej ud af døren” manicure, og for mig er de alle penge værd!

Drawn To You, China Glaze Magnetix collection, swatches and review – anmeldelse

På nedenstående billeder lagde jeg 1 lag over en ridge filler grundlak og sluttede med Seche Vite Top coat. Jeg brugte stjerne magneten på mine tomler og diagonalmagneten på resten.

See facts below. Drawn To You is a pink/purple, slightly dusty with shimmer and tiny purple flecks. It dries semi matte. It seems to be the one that gives the weakest magnetic effect, and the star magnet was not working good with this polish.

Se facts below. You Move Me is a nut brown/bronze /dark beige with a lot of silvery beige shimmer, and I love the way the magnet makes the colors pop. The formula is a bit sheer so you might prefer two coats. It would be better for my ridges too, but my Seche Vite top coat also can make that problem go away. It dries very shiny. The star magnet stood out really crisp and clean-cut on this at first, but I still find that it worked well on this polish, as you can see on the last 3 photos. On the full manicure I started with a ridge filler base coat, then I added 1 one coat of You Move Me, except the ring finger, where I used 2 coats, and I held the star magnet over each finger right after applying polish on it. I finished with Seche Vite Top Coat.

Se fakta nedenstående. You Move Me er en nøddebrun/bronze/mørk beige farve med en masse sølv/beige shimmer, og jeg elsker den made som magneten påvirker farven. Lakken er en smule til den tynde side, så du vil måske foretrække to lag. Det vil også afhjælpe synlige riller, men det kan Seche Vite toplak også gøre en masse ved. Den tørrer med en flot glans. Stjernen stod fuldstændigt skarpt, men blev mere udvisket mens lakken tørrede. Men den virker godt på denne lak, som du kan se på 3 sidste billeder, hvor jeg brugte den på alle fingre. Jeg startede med et lag ridge filler grundlak, lagde 1 lag You Move Me (dog to på ringfinger), og jeg holdt magneten over hver finger straks efter at jeg havde lagt lakken. Jeg afsluttede med Seche Vite Top Coat.

Cling on, China Glaze Magnetix collection, swatches and review – anmeldelse

For the full manicure I applied 2 coats (notice how that changes the color) over a ridge filler base coat and finished with Seche Vite Top coat. I used the star magnet on all fingers, it did really well with this polish.
På nedenstående billeder lagde jeg 2 lag (læg mærke til farveforskellen) over en ridge filler grundlak og sluttede med Seche Vite Top coat. Jeg brugte stjerne magneten på all fingre, den virkede rigtigt godt på denne lak.

See facts below. Cling On is a green, bronze toned polish with silvery shimmer and it's a tiny bit sheer, so 2 coats clearly is better, as you can see on the above photos. It really looks like it moves on your nail, when you move it, changes all the time...
