A tribute to China Glaze - Artsy Wednesday

 

 

... and my right had has a guest appearance today ;)

The theme in this Artsy Wednesday is "Favorite nail polish brand” , and that is without any doubt what so ever China Glaze.

After thinking about what to do, I gave up – there is no way I in one manicure could show my full appreciation, so I decided to randomly pick one of many, many favorite China Glaze colors, Riveting, a gorgeous, fiery orange. I painted branches with berries, a bit like Blackthorn, also known as Sloan. As usual I used acrylic craft paint and top coated with Seche Vite.

Danish midsummer “St. John’s Eve” - “Sankt Hans”

 

The longest day of the year – summer solstice – is June 21 and June 24 is Sankt Hans dag – but in the evening of June 23 we celebrate Sankt Hans evening with huge bonfires, speeches, the midsummer song and being with friends. We also say that on this evening the witches fly on their broomsticks to Brocken in Harzen in Germany to meet. And this was the super short version of a tradition that has been developed through centuries…

We celebrate it with our neighbors (living in the countryside that basically are a lot of people from the neighborhood) – and naturally my nails had to reflect what evening it was…

All the used polishes are from China Glaze; the base is Sea Spray, the blue is Blue Years Eve and the fiery orange is Riveting. The rest is painted with acrylic colors, and the top coat is Seche Vite.

I går fejrede vi som sædvanligt Sankt hans sammen med vores naboer, og i ved jo alle hvilke traditioner vi har her i landet, og at heksene flyver til Bloksbjerg.

Derfor vil jeg nøjes med at fortælle at de brugte lakker alle er fra China Glaze grundfarven er Sea Spray, den mørkeblå er Blue Years Eve og den orange er Riveting. Resten er malet med akrylfarve, og til slut lagde jeg Seche Vite som toplak.

It's nice to have a garden hose around if the nails should burst into fire with this fiery color on them... ;)

China Glaze Riveting is the gorgeous, fiery orange base color in this super easy and quick nail art. I thought it would be interesting to paint flat/one-dimensional dots and stripes in acrylic color on Riveting, just like I initially did in THIS mani yesterday, and I kind of liked its awesome depth combined the flat look. Of course I top coated with Seche Vite.

China Glaze Riveting er den lækre, flammende orange grundfarve i denne supper hurtige og lette nail art. Jeg syntes det kunne være interessant at male flade/en-dimensionelle prikker og striber med akrylfarve på Riveting, lidt ligesom jeg først gjorde i GÅRSDAGENS mani, og jeg kunne godt lide dens dybde kombineret med det flade look. Til slut brugte jeg toplak, Seche Vite Top coat.

It's easy to apply, dries fast, and I show you this gorgeous color in2 coats, without a top coat, and without further ado, I'll let the photos speak for themselves...
Den er let at påføre, tørrer hurtigt, og jeg viser denne skønne farve i 2 lag, uden toplak, og uden yderligere bemærkninger vil jeg lade billederne tale for sig selv...

 

 

Not even a matte top coat (Essie Matte About You) can "kill" the fire inside. Isn't it amazing??
